NOLA and MUSIC getting close…

As I’m writing this, in eight short days I’ll be on my way to New Orleans, a place that’s been a home to me for over six years and to which I keep getting pulled back. The city has that sort of magical spell on you, as many people have expressed an agreement with to me. It seeps in and leaves you affected for life. Indeed, I’ve felt this exact effect, as I’ve ridden up and down the streets of the French Quarter on my cruiser bike greeting new, of which you make at least one a day, and old friends, while smelling the moist, warm air in between yummy restaurant odors and being overwhelmed by the explosion of colors and shapes of the charming surroundings.

This time is no different. I’m intensely longing back to FEEL the city – and thus MYSELF again and I simply can’t wait to let my teeth sink into the first powdered sugarcoated beignet as I take a sip of the most delicious coffee in the world at indeed the world café, Café du Monde to get my late night snack before a stroll around the Quarter with a good friend, looking up if we’re seeing it all for the first time…

But I’m looking forward to something even MORE exciting than that: to record an EP of my original songs in the company of some of the finest musicians in the city! Who do you think is going to produce of this exciting project? Donny Markowitz, writer of the Dirty Dancing hit “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life”. Donny already brought one of my songs, Jacob, which is written about a homeless man I met in the French Quarter, to new life, by beautifully arranging it with bas, drums, guitar, and strings for the musicians to become inspired to do a killer job. I’m so excited to finally have strings on my music!!

Yep, this time I’m going ALL THE WAY, and my intuition tells me that with the right focus and hard work, I’ll get where I want to go. And that is to be able to share my original music with as many people as possible as well as create a focus on the homeless situation in the U.S and worldwide. Much more on that later…

Looking forward to next time! Wishing you an super inspiring week ahead 🙂
